E-mail marketing

Email marketing was all the rage when the internet took off and became part of many people’s daily lives. It eventually became over abused with companies selling e-mail lists to unrelated companies and spam was born. For a while it was difficult to sift through all that spam and now it is removed before it even gets read.

This doesn’t mean that email marketing is dead, quite the opposite. The difference now is that permission must be asked before any emails are sent. This means that the person has to subscribe from the website or other source to receive the emails. This greatly improves the chances of potential customers who are already known to be interested in the product of being interested and reading the mail.

Getting traffic to a website and getting people to sign up for updates, deals and special offers is the most important aspect of email marketing. After that the content of the email should be geared towards the perceived wants or needs of the customer. Short bits of enticing information with a catchy headline are the best way to write these emails.
